The end is really where all the exciting good stuff is, sooo, as a hint, if you ever decide to try again from the beginning:

There are 20 in the village, before going down the long stretch with lots of candy lined up.
Some may not be in direct Line of sight by wandering, you can find them by walking along the edges.
After going down the line, you'll have 30
The remaining ones are now in the remainder of the map, between the little graveyard area and the top of the hill.
